Review complete: Practical Django Projects
I wrapped up my review of Practical Django Projects for Ars Technica tonight. Its good to finally get that out the door. Its still going through editing, copy writing, and all that good stuff, but I hope it might go up tomorrow. I'll be sure to link it here.

WWDC: San Francisco was a success
Jacuqi and I just got back from a whirlwind trip to San Francisco to cover Apple's WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) for Ars Technica! We spent most of our time talking to iPhone and Mac programmers, covering Steve Jobs' keynote address to the attendees and press, and going to the cool parties that are thrown. It's true: Condé Nast buys Ars Technica
There's really not much to say at this point, but you should probably read Ken Fisher's complete post about the acquisition on the front page of Ars: Ars Technica is now focused on increasing its coverage by bringing more experts onboard to full out our technical mojo. We're going to get broader, but also more in-depth, in areas of IT and science. Macworld 2008 Predictions, how did I do?
You might remember that a few weeks ago, I made some predictions about the Macworld 2008 conference & expo we covered last week, here are the results: Movie Rentals: +1, this was the most likely to happen, everyone got this one right New Macbook: +1, also very likely, but the specific details were not pinned down until a day or two immediately prior to the keynote. Goodbye San Francisco!
It was a great, if not busy & tiring, week in my second favorite city in the world. Check out my roundup of our first day's Macworld coverage. We went to the Microsoft pre-Macworld bash party last night. It was fun and we met some really cool developers from the Mac Business Unit. Macworld 08 thus far
We're almost through with the second day of the Macworld expo and I'm already getting burned out. But in a good way ;) Last night we threw our big party) and it was a huge success! So check this. Live blogging and the Eye-Fi Wireless 2 gigabyte SD camera memory card
Jacqui and I (and others at Ars Technica) have done the live blogging thing enough to know that orchestrating the whole affair can be a challenge with only two people in attendance. Unlike the mega-sites Engadget and Gizmodo who can afford and finagle up to four people to sit in the press area, take photos, transfer them, format and upload them, manage the live blogging itself, et cetera.
