After banging around my desk for the 5th time today, a post from Buzz Anderson came through my news reader. A new desk! I love it and I think I'm almost resolved to get one for myself. It's called the Pocket Desk and it's by Offi. I love that it's simple, looks pretty sturdy, and has that awesome cubby hole on the front. I saw a link to a new CMS in my news reader this morning called LightCMS that bills itself as the first "designer friendly" CMS. When I clicked through to check it out I noticed something odd about their logo. I'd seen it somewhere before, but where? Hmm.... wait! Obama! I see that they've added a few light rays and pulled out the stripes, but the similarity is unmistakable! Maybe they're just huge Obama fans?

I just ran across this post on the Speak Up blog, The Hardest Working Presidential Candidate Logo, and thought others might enjoy it. It really speaks to how the Obama campaign have employed some really thoughtful designers / design firms to build and push the "branding" of the Barack Obama 2008 campaign. This particular article is how their team have molded their core image to play towards many disparate groups of people without losing the message.
