Any twitter freaks wanna help me out?
I’m writing a script to update a twitter account. I’ve written it in [Python], naturally, but I can’t seem to get twitter to accept my updates. The server responds with “200 OK” so I assume it got it, but it never shows up on the site. For reference, here’s the [twitter API], which is dead simple.
Here’s the code (I lifted the idea of using httplib from some other python twitter thing whose...
Logos, a status report
A week or so [I asked about logos], mostly for use on my personal invoices.
I’ve had this one sitting around for a while. A friend of mine made this logo and I really like it. What do you guys think? Anyone else got any other ideas?
Let me hear em in the comments or email me!
MASTERSTROKE
Apparently this shirt looks like “The Chief” :)
Boo hoo, Zeldman!
I bet you even ride a gold-plated standards-compliant limo to work!
Just for now
Watch:
You ruined my morning!
Running into someone you know on the train in the morning really messes up my day. I really like listening to music and/or reading on the boring ride into work. When I accidentally run into someone I know, I can no longer do those things because I end up talking to them the whole way. Boo. Not really their fault, just yelling at the universe ;)
Changes in Django's management, road to 1.0,...
I follow the Django-dev and Django-users mailing lists and there’s been a lot of really cool things happening internally that I just wanted to let those who don’t get to follow those lists. First up, there’s been really productive discussions concerning a solid timeline for getting to version 1.0 of the framework. Jacob Kaplan-Moss kicked it off with [this post]:
There’s a lot of different...
Twitterific
I have a single gripe with [Twitterific]: That stupid “timeout” dialog that pops up every time Twitter goes down for more than 1 minute.
It’s freaking annoying and it’s really pissing me off. I know that Twitter is probably just experiencing a lot of use lately, and that’s fine, but why does [Twitterific] need to show me a modal dialog window (and steal focus) every single time there’s a...
Need a logo
I’ve been trying to come up with a “Clint” logo for a while. Mostly for use on my invoices because Kurt said that my current one is “gay.” Any ideas?
New iMac: Purchased
It’s currently sitting on my desk syncing from my old iMac.
I got the 20-inch Core 2 Duo model. All stock. It’s hot. Now I have the same computer at home and at work.
Jacqui gets to replace her old dual-G4 tower with my iMac G5! So much new Apple stuff in the house recently :P
Jacqui is back! Yay!
Jacqui has returned from California! Check out [her play by play of her time spent in SF].
Interviewed about Digg
BusinessWeek’s Nichola Saminather sent me an email yesterday after seeing me digg a few items in her instance of the [Digg Spy]. She wanted to talk to me about how I used Digg as she was writing an article on the topic. We talked on the phone for about 10 minutes and it was pretty interesting and quite unexpected. She’s also got a funny blog, so I may subscribe. I hope I show up in a...
I bought an AppleTV and a new Airport Extreme...
Would’ve bought an iPhone too, but they won’t be on sale for a while :(
Jacqui at Macworld
Just a little FYI for everyone. Jacqui will be covering Macworld in San Francisco this week. All her coverage will probably live at Infinite Loop or on the [front page]. I’ll be coordinating the live IRC feed from my super secret source (not Jacqui) in #mwsf on irc.arstechnica.com
Jacqui will be transcribing that feed to a post on the front page of Ars. Lets all pray for the iPhone! ;)
WebFaction upgrades their plans
I use WebFaction to host Django apps that I absolutely need to run well, and I love them. They’ve upgraded all their plans, and I hope I won’t be running over my memory limits anymore! :)

Well, here comes our BIG holiday present to everyone:
We’ve added one long-running process and 40MB of RAM to all plans !
This means that Rails, Django and TurboGears hosting is now available on...
