The Robot is at 98%
The robot is pretty much done. We’ve spent most of this week fine tuning it, fixing broken wheels, and disassembling motor housings to keep the robot in good shape until Tuesday (when we show it to the grading commitee).
Here’s some pics from today:
Me showing off the robot to Professor Barnett
One of my group members (Adam Stout) showing us what he’d like to do to the robot

Its pretty much all formalities from here on out :P
Final VB.net app
Welp I’m sorry to say this is the last app I’ve made for my VB.net computer interfacing class :)
I’m pretty pleased with what I’ve learned and I think it may have opened a path into doing some C# and C++ .NET programming :)
This last app is one of the most pointless. Its basically seeing if we can read and write from a file, with some appending thrown in :P
Without further delay:

Jacqui got her job
Jacqui will be accepting a job with Curtis Inc.
Heres what she’ll be doing:
The position is for Multimedia Developer, and I will be designing, developing, and programming various multimedia projects (such as websites, databases, CD-ROMs, animations, etc.) for their large clients such as Proctor & Gamble, GE, LexMark, Toyota, LensCrafters, etc. etc. etc.
Better pictures of the apartment!
PHP DFT/FFT Pointlessness
I’ve done some stuff with the DFT/FFT php library stuff I was talkin about earlier ;)
I got a DFT implemented in PHP but now I’m going to be changing some stuff because I found some cool PEAR classes:
Math_Complex Math_TrigOp
Here are also some cool DFT/FFT links:

A few updates
Some exciting things have taken place over the weekend so I’ll just write a little bit about what Jacqui, Will and I did this Saturday.
First and foremost we left West Lafayette bright and early around 9am. We caught some McDonald’s on the way out and ran into fellow Purdue blogger and PUMUG regular Ryan Bonnell. We talked a little bit while we waited for hashbrowns and then set out on our...
The retardedness begins
Right now I am sitting out in front of the Electrical Engineering building at Purdue after finishing up giving my awesome presentation :P I am waiting for Jacqui to come by and drive me home. I am currently watching a display of drunken pointlessness take place at the apartments across the street.
Guys are drinking whenever someone drives by and honk at them. In fact, they have a huge sign...
What a cute cat :)
Jacqui found a cat outside our apartment today. Its a kitten and its raining so we took it in. Its got a collar so we’re pretty sure it belongs to someone around here. She made some posters and hung them up around here in hopes of finding the cat’s owner.
For now the cat is living in Jacqui’s room:
We bought some cheapo cat food and she’s really taken to liking Jacqui’s room. The...

The Offer
I got my offer letter from T-Mobile today. I spent some of my day at work talking to Ed and having him explain to me all of the stuff I didn’t understand. Me and Jacqui are going down to Cincinnati this weekend to look at three apartments that we’ve been looking at for a while.
I will be discussing the offer with Jacqui tonight and I’ll probably get all my paperwork in order and send the...
Got it
Got da’ Job :O
Robot LCD
Yeah, you heard me. Write this down. L.C.D.
R.O.B.O.T.S.
Click on that image to go to the gallery of pictures that have been taken over the past few days. We’ve spent the whole week in lab and we’ve got the robot doing all of its required functions in preparation for a practice run on Monday. We get two runs to navigate the search area and find four black 2-inch dots and report that even wirelessly to both a small wireless tower (which displays...
Hired?
I found out today that T-Mobile is in the process of putting the paperwork through to approve my employment with them :)
GMail Groundfloor (going up?)
Everyone and their mom seems to have a Gmail email account while Gmail is still in beta. What gives? :P
The Fabulous IBM PowerPC 970 Processor!
I made a presentation for my ECET 359 technical presentation. Its only supposed to last about 5 minutes so that’s why its so short :)
Warning: This presentation kicks ass, so be warned.
About the iBook Battery
I don’t remember if I mentioned it here or not. I got my iBook back to me a week ago Friday but it came back to me with a battery that wasn’t mine! The battery that was in my iBook looked like this:
I called up the Apple rep that had been helping me out with the most recent hard drive failure and told her that I had received the computer but that a strange battery was in it and she...
The robot is coming along nicely
This coming week is going to be painful :O
So busy!
Wow I’ve been really busy as graduation is inching closer :) I’ve been doing a lot of stuff so I’ll try to distill it all down to a single post and try not to drone on and on about stuff.
New Glasses
I got these from the SUPER DUPER wal*mart vision center. I know Kennedye hates wal*mart but I thought I was getting them from a Wal*Mart that was about 3 minutes from my apartment but...
