Ditched T-Mobile, got an iPhone

As you may have already heard, Jacqui lost her phone during perhaps the most important week of her professional career. As a journalist covering Apple stuff, you need to be in nearly constant communication during the Macworld Expo!

After asking all over Moscone in various lost and found stations, we gave up and used this as a catalyst to finally dump T-Mobile and make the jump to AT&T. And of course we couldn’t go to AT&T without buying some iPhones, right?

With the updates made during the conference itself, multiple SMS’ for one, many of the barriers that had been keeping Jacqui away from the iPhone kool-aid were dismantled. A little coincidental, though. A day after the iPhone gains the ability to send drunken text messages to forty people at once and the RAZR up and disappears. Interesting! ;) I really only had a small design to be able to tether the phone over Bluetooth, but it’s not quite as big of an issue as I sometimes make it out to be.

And with that, we are both iPhone users! T-Mobile no more!

Check out my customized home screen above, notice that I do not keep the “phone” portion of the phone on my home screen (I wonder if I’m the only person who did this). I just don’t use it enough. I use my phone more as an always-on email/text/web-browsing machine. In all reality, an iPod touch that can send SMS messages and had an EDGE connection would be perfect!
